2027 Trips Dates and Sign Up

These trips are open for admission! Please click on a trip that you would like to join to sign up. All guests must submit an application and deposit in order to register.

All guests must be physically and mentally fit, confident in the water, and comfortable swimming at least 200 metres in deep open ocean unaided, taking into account waves and currents typical of the Austral Islands.

All trips begin and end on a Sunday, this is to match the domestic flight schedule into Rurutu.

Pricing Details

8-Guest Trips (shared rooms)

Note: 8 guest weeks (potentially) will have to rotate into 2 groups when dropping into the water to comply with the 2025 regulations allowing only 6 guests in the water at a time.

Early bird pricing:
$4,550 USD (before Jan 1st, 2027)
Normal pricing:
$4,750 USD (on/after Jan 1st, 2027)

6-Guest Trips (shared rooms)

Note: 6 guest weeks are guaranteed to not have to rotate amongst participants for drops, as the group size complies with the 2025 regulations allowing only 6 guests in the water at a time.

Early bird pricing:
$5,100 USD (before Jan 1st, 2027)
Normal pricing:
$5,300 USD (on/after Jan 1st, 2027)

Single Room (limited quantity)

+$650 USD for the week for single supplement (solo room).

Includes

  • 7 nights accommodation (twin shared included; single supplements are limited).

  • 6 boat days (3 full days for 6~7 hours each + 3 half-days for 3~4 hours each).

  • 3 meals daily (breakfast + lunch + dinner).

  • 2~3 land excursions (hikes and island tour).

  • Airport transfers in Rurutu.

  • Pro whale guide, program leader and captain.

  • Presentations and whale talks.

  • Optional photography/videography lessons.

  • Any photos our trip leader gets of guests during the trip.

Excludes

  • Gear (must bring your own, emergency rentals are available but quality and sizes are very limited). You need a mask, snorkel, fins, 3mm wetsuit.

  • Insurance

  • Personal spending and gratuities (optional)
